At this point in the season it doesn't matter much if Alvarez or Torrens starts. With regard to Vientos, playing him some at least has the merit of increasing his near-zero trade value in the event he gets hot, like Luis Robert did which at least allowed them to save some money when he was picked up.
That's a great start. Now the most important task is replacing Stearns, crafter of the worst team money could buy.

The only down side would be a vacancy he leaves as director of player development. Obviously he was doing well in that role.
