Soto and Pete 0-12. We don’t score when they don’t hit. I totally agree these BP throw away games are starting to not make sense. How much would it ruin Sproat’s development if he was called up and then sent back down? Is that going to ruin his career? And if they think Waddell & Hagenman are better than him, that’s a bigger issue.
Yes the Mets have bullpen issues....but 2-19 indicates the Mets are not the creme' de la creme' of baseball as long as that stat is the worst in baseball.
"No offense, poor pitching, and questionable decisions" says it all about these 2025 schizophrenic Mets.
We have the Fantastic Four (2 of whom who Steve above noted were 0-12 yesterday) followed by the Futile Five. We have a decimated pitching Corp and a bullpen staffed by trivia names, and we have a well-regarded (he was a Yankee after all - ugh!) manager who, to be fair, is stuck with trying to rearrange deck chairs on a leaky ship - and often misplays that assignment.
We have a farm system that isn't all that and a GM that's fond of the discount bin.
But not to worry! Mood swings go both ways and soon we'll rip off a few in a row and everything will be sunny again - until the next slump.
If we make a deal, my guess is it's going to be right up against the deadline. There's a bit of a game of chicken involved. But we have the prospects to do it if the price is right.
Taking too many pitches is what's killing the Mets. The first pitch is ending up as an automatic strike. And once they get to a two strike count, they're dead meat.

2-19 with RISP for the day.
'Nuff said.

Maybe next year.

I really hope these bullpen games don't come back to bite us. I'd rather see a prospect than a 4A re-tread.
