I have said it before.. it’s all about being healthy.. and even though he was back on the field, it didn’t mean that he was 100% and totally tuned into the game. It definitely can take a while… and he is the absolute proof.. because now being healthy he is showing us who he is and who he has always been.. if he would’ve been healthy at the top of the year, this season could’ve gone differently.. but I will also throw in there if they could figure it out to have Jared Young on first base.. that would’ve also been a big difference
Who would replace him? If there is a Benge in the wings, you know, I can see it. Though, even then, you would trade at a loss.
But there isn't. Plus, he's basically the de facto leader of the team.
Injuries affected his play this year. He still has a lot left.
Anyway, the sane people know all of this. It was a nice win & it's appreciated that the Brewers helped by flubbing the play. But that happens. You keep it close, make the plays, and you get wins like that. Plus, guess the Mets won't be swept.
"And to think people wanted (still want??) to trade this guy."
Still want.
It baffles me that so many fans are excited by meaningless stats after the season is already over. His play is the full-season equivalent of hitting a HR in the 9th inning to go from down 8 to down 7. Who cares!
I’m glad they have him. Having said that, it’s a mediocre season at best when compared to money spent on the position vs expectations. A big knock for me is his maddeningly slow starts. Lousy first half then great second half still equals mediocrity cumulatively. Sure, if he’s lucky to have someone pick him up for 2+ months it might even out. But he’s paid to be an elite player.
RESPECT THIS MAN 🗣️
Well done and good timing! I wrote compared Lindor to HOFer Barry Larkin in my post today and wish I'd read your post first! https://almostcooperstown.substack.com/p/francisco-lindor-is-the-modern-barry?r=6m2o9

Trading Lindor never made sense.

This guy’s better than any of the “core” that got traded away yet some want him traded. Makes no sense

Morel did not drive in the winning run, as the play was scored as an error,
and Morel did not get an RBI.
