Ridiculous to say that just because Iglesias had such a great season last year he won't have a very good one this year. He may not be off-the charts, but he's a lifetime .283 hitter with a fabulous glove and a clutch player. He's always been good. Listen to Keith and Rod all last season: "He's just a good, good baseball player." Teams like the Rockies, Marlins, Padres and others didn't know what they had. The Mets gave him a real chance and he came through.

Sign Iglesias.

Iglesias was such a positive force in 2024. I liked him from his first press conference when he joined the Mets on the MLB level. In that conference, which left an indelible impression on me, Iglesias said in a friendly, genuine voice to fans, how happy he was to be here. This was at the Mets lowest point in the season! It struck me of his positivity and what he could bring to the team. And man, did he impress on the field, too, beyond imagination.

What a bonus he would be this year, especially if the Mets bring up their young prospects. His positivity, style of play, experience, and enthusiasm would leave a valuable lasting impression on the youngsters.

He was amazing last season. Not sure what you can expect from him this year. I would like him back if we can move McNeil. If we can’t, I’d rather Acuna

I'm here, too. I'd love to have Iglesias back, but not at the expense of Acuna (who I think may just seize second base in the spring and not let it go).

It's possible the Squirrel will be moved, but since he's a left-handed bat who can play either infield or outfield, I'm guessing Candelita would be the guy left without a chair when the music stops. McNeil is too valuable.

My only concern is whether he can replicate his offensive production. At his age, there was a reason he didn’t see the majors in 2023…it’s more likely he had an extended stretch of luck vs he found something he never had.

Iglesias y Winker deberían ser regresos obligatorios para esta temporada. Jugadores contrastados a coste bajo y motivados en volver a ser Mets.

I would like to see him back, as he is a perfect utility guy around the infield. And in my opinion Acuna should be at 2nd base and would benefit from the mentoring of a solid veteran like Jose. An outstanding clubhouse guy by all accounts

If the rumors about Alonso not wanting to come back are true, Mets should should let let him use them to drive his price up for other teams, shoukd give him a final take-it-or-leave-it offer and deadline, immediately cease further negotiations and move on.

I think we've seen the best out of Iglesiss, and wouldn't bring him back.
