Mets should become more aggressive....bunt runners over, hit and run, put pressure on opposition. Alvarez is swinging, like Vientos & Alonzo, at the outside slider. He looks pathetic. Send him down to get his sh*t together. Torrenz can handle it.
The chart illustrating the entire lineups performance over last 7 games is frightening....other than 2, the entire lineup is cold. Why is it when a player gets traded to Yankees, they revive hitting skills, but when a Hall of Fame contender comes to Mets, suddenly catches Mets disease of inept batting skill??
Tough stretch for sure. We're just not hitting, and it's not just now. Pete coming out hotter than a pistol covered up a lot of issues.
The biggest one is this: "They pounded 13 balls into the ground last night, and it seemed like they were all on early counts, especially in innings 7-9 when they were disposed of quickly and efficiently by the Red Sox."
We're beating it into the dirt rather than smoking line drives into the gaps. That's a recipe for disaster. There's no merry-go-round, just a lot of DPs and wasted opportunities.
While we're at it, I would absolutely shake up the lineup if I'm in Mendy's shoes. Lindor stays at leadoff, I put Acuña behind him and drop Soto to third and Pete into cleanup. Then mix and match behind them.
Let's go Old School and put our speed at the top and see if we can change the pitch sequences we're seeing. Get some fastballs to hit with men on.

Well said. Really painful. Mendoza is good man to have in charge for tough times.
It’s so frustrating to watch and it’s really been like this most of the year except Pete and Lindor were hot. Hopefully we snap out of this soon 🤞

Juggle lineup. Consider bringing up Mauricio. McNeil plays everyday and higher up? Too many under 700 ops ‘hitters’. Poor performances.

Worth trying. Gotta do something. I like Soto batting 3rd.
