At this point, I'd say he even exceeds Soto when it comes to overall value to the team. Other teams have signed guys with Benge's talent who haven't even made the majors yet to long term contracts. And look how the Braves have signed their best guys to long term deals. Mets management should step up and do the same.
Keep in mind, that McLean is going to take votes away from Benge. Where Benge has had a great second half of the year his value exceeds rookie of the year awards.
