I've always contended that Torrenz was a very good player & valuable to the Mets....he can hit, and the opposition is terrified to run against him. He may tire in August but many do. Nows the time to pile up the wins if possible.
I'm thinking the 3 salient things about this team over these first 10 games are: the rejuvenation of Vientos and Robert and good performances by the starters in 9 out of 10 games. Like quite a few others, I had started to think Vientos was a lost cause...guess we need to give Stearns some credit for sticking with him. Other very gratifying developments include Semien not being an automatic out and Alvarez hitting. Also, from what I've seen, Semien's defense is as advertised, a "vacuum cleaner".
Hi Michael. Thanks for the recap. Small editing note. Notice how many times you use "Of course" and "sure" in your posts. I know this isn't English class, but you are a good writer and these wasted phrases get in the way. Thanks and congratulate your colleagues on good work with Just Mets. I am a subscriber.
Thanks, Mr. Gallagher, style also is an interest of mine. Let's give Mr. Baron credit, though: he does not spray the word "incredible" all over the place as many sportswriters do.
A lot of good things as you pointed out, but I still don't understand why a pitcher cannot complete 6 innings and go into the 7th inning. Last year it all looked promising until the bullpen was over used and then at times looked like batting practice.
I mean it’s a normal thing early in the year to hold the starters back a little in terms of pitch count, we’ve seen a lot of guys come out in the 70s and 80s in a couple weeks they’ll be given a longer leash

I doubt if there's a better backup catcher in MLB. Remember a few years ago when the opposition ran wild on the Mets (D'Arnaud) catchers?

Thank you. I enjoy Just Mets and I have followed Michael for several years. He is a good one.

Did this count as a come from behind win that breaks the 0-70? I think it does. Good win. Glad to have 3 in a row coming back home. Fire Mendy.
You and the "Fire Mendy" comment. Give it a rest man!
Gonna hear it until they do. Sorry bud.
